A Month of Monkees: Random Monkee Business

Here are some random items that I have found floating around the internet that deal with The Monkees. Click on the pics for the full size versions.

First up are a few TV ads for the world premiere of the show back in 1966.

And here's one from when it went into syndication on Saturday mornings in 1975.

Followed by a synopisis from the episode "Monkees In Paris" and an ad for their all new special in 1997.

Here are some random teen magazine articles featuring the boys and a photo of Davy and his then wife and daughter from an early 70s issue of 16.

This one is pretty interesting. It appears to be an application to join a Davy Jones fanclub.
Here are some ads featuring the boys from their days doing Kool-Aid and Nerf commercials.

Here are some backstage passes from their various tours in the 80s and 90s. I own one from the 1997 tour when Creamed Corn was the opening act on the last show of the tour. But that's another story . . .

Here's an ad for a concert on their 1987 tour with opening act, "Weird Al" Yankovic. Many consider this tour to be their best. I know I do.

Speaking of ads, here are some more recent ones featuring Davy advertising some kind of investment company.

That's all for now. See you tomorrow when we continue with "A Month of Monkees"!

I saw the them with Weird Al as the opening act in Cincinnati. It was their best tour. I had friends who didn't go cause they werent monkee fans but they were Weird Al fans. None of us knew he was the opening act. when I told them after I went they wished they had gone as they never saw him live.

The 87 tour really was the best tour! They were primed by the 86 tour but for the 87 tour they pulled out the nuggets! My fav two moments were when Micky actually played drums and when they tore into Long title: Do I have to do this all over again while showing scenes from HEAD !!!!

I noticed the syndication Ad used a promo pic from Head. Isn't that dumb? lol
