Farewell and thanks for the ride.

Hello all
I've thought and thought and unfortunately have come to the conclusion that it is time to pack it in. Due to so many outside reasons I am deciding to stop Dartman's World of Wonder. The top reason is time. I don't have the time that I once had to devote to the blog and I feel bad that I can't keep up with it. Another reason is the recent digital distribution act. It's all but killed a lot of file sharing systems and sites and thus make it harder and harder to post things to share with you all. I totally understand why it exists and believe it or not, I am in favor of it (especially in my business). However, they do need to tweak it a bit. I have loved doing this blog more than you can possibly imagine. It made me so happy to share my treasures with you all. I will keep all of the past posts up as long as Blogger will let me for anyone who may stop by and happen to want to see what I once shared with the internet. A lot of the sharities are gone due to the file sharing sites taking them down but it may provide a little bit of service in educating the new comers. Please understand that I would love to keep going but at this point in time, it is just not an option. Thanks for all of the great comments that you have all left and hopefully, one day, The World of Wonder can reopen at another time. Farewell. - The Dartman

Following up with the last post of The Partridge Family Bootleg, I bring you another bootleg. This time it's a real band playing a live concert. It's Queen rocking like only they could in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was part of a huge rock festival that still goes on to this day called Cidade do Rock. This particular performance comes from January 18, 1985. There never was and has never been a band like Queen and they were truly amazing. Hear for yourself as you listen to "Queen - Rock In Rio". Come On Get Unreleased Songs

Today I offer a Partridge Family bootleg. What's that you ask, a Partridge Family Bootleg?!?!? Yes. I have no idea where I got this but I've had it for some time. At least ten years. It was a CDR that a friend of mine sent me back in the day when recordable CDs were the new novelty. It has no official name so I have always referred to it as "The Partridge Family Bootleg". It is pretty much a collection of songs that were on the TV show but never released. There are no track titles but you can figure out what songs are what by listening to it. For example, I know the first track is a cover of the old Everly Brothers hit, "Crying in the Rain" (written by Carole King). Anyway, it is pretty cool and I hope you like it as much as I do. Enjoy!

New Year, New Podcast!

Here it is, 2013! This marks year 7 of the World of Wonder. I never thought I would make it this far! (though it did look like I wasn't going to make it through year 6) I have a bunch of items to post this coming year so don't worry, the World of Wonder is alive and well. That being said, I do think this will be the final year of the blog as my time is just getting less and less free. However, I will take this year to bring you lots of fun stuff. Starting off with the latest Podcast. Here is podcast #31. To be honest, I have no idea what is in this one as I made it way back in October. It's been sitting around waiting to be posted and I just lost track of all time with being on the road and being a dad. So, here it is. Enjoy!

Finally, the Third Indiana Jones Story Album!

After years of saying I will post "The Story of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade", I am finally keeping true to my word! Here is the third and final story record from the Indiana Jones legacy. As with The Temple of Doom, there is plenty of dialogue, music and sound effects from the film with an added bonus: deleted scenes!!!! The album was obviously produced before the final cut of the film was released and as a result there are many scenes included or described on the album that were never in the film! Super cool! Bob Crane's Concentration Drum Camp

Whatever your opinion of Bob Crane, I always had a big respect for the man. He started out as a musician before becoming a DJ and then eventually a gigantic television star. His musical venture into percussion put him into some of the same symphonies that I have had the pleasure of working in as well. It's not surprising that his love for music continued well after his fame from "Hogan's Heroes".In 1966, Bob Crane released an album as a result of his affiliation with the television series:"The Funny Side of TV". The record is a crazy mixture of instrumental big-band renditions of television themes with Crane's drum kit high in the mix. Add to that some brief skits, one-liners, and Crane's comedy monologues. Some of the jokes are pretty funny, from Crane's improbable reading of cast members on "Theme from 'Thursday Night at the Movies'" to his ridiculous sendup of Candid Camera. As you might expect, Crane performs the theme from Hogan's Heroes along with themes from F Troop, My Three Sons, Get Smart, and other shows of the day. Crane received assistance from big-name arrangers such as Sid Feller, Ernie Freeman, and Stu Phillips (who also produced), and some of his Hogan's Heroes co-stars posed for the cover photo even though they do not appear on the album. It appears that I am dishing out these podcasts every week! This will probably be the last one for a bit as my time is going to be limited over the next few weeks. But oh what a way to end our little run! This one is soooooooo Wacky! It features some really cool tracks and some really cool commercials and really cool "creations" and you will love it! Guaranteed! Be on the lookout for some "space themed" tunes (hence the artwork!) and a special ode to Dr. Seuss that I recorded back in 1997. This one is pretty cool if I do say so myself. Podcast 26 arrives!

I'm really enjoying doing these podcasts. It's becoming easier and easier to do them and the beauty of it is that I can work on them a little bit at a time and eventually, before I even realize it, I have a full one! This one features some great tracks from Barbi Benton, Black Sabbath, Dolly Parton, Fishbone, Barry Williams, the new Braodway cast of Evita, a live one from the Bangles, Monty Python, Cheap Trick, the Billy Nayer Show, Ween, Groucho Marx and many more. Podcast 23 Is Here!

Here's the latest podcast featuring all kinds of fun stuff! As I stated a while back, my schedule has become sooooo intensely busy that I have very little time to devote to the World of Wonder yet the podcasts are something that I can work on little by little so I will continue to do these. Thus these newer podcasts have a bit of a different feel to them. And also as I stated, they are pretty much straight forward audio clips, comedy and music without any dialogue from me. I just don't have the time. That being said, this podcast is really cool! Featuring songs from Cheap Trick, Carol King, Jame Minoudis (a friend and fellow Creamed Corn member), 'Til Tuesday (recently remastered and sounding amazing), Bill Cosby, T. Rex, Nirvana, Frank Zappa, John Travolta, Tom Jones and Jack White.
