Podcast 28

It appears that I am dishing out these podcasts every week! This will probably be the last one for a bit as my time is going to be limited over the next few weeks. But oh what a way to end our little run! This one is soooooooo Wacky! It features some really cool tracks and some really cool commercials and really cool "creations" and you will love it! Guaranteed! Be on the lookout for some "space themed" tunes (hence the artwork!) and a special ode to Dr. Seuss that I recorded back in 1997. This one is pretty cool if I do say so myself. See if you agree as you take a listen to Podcast #28! Enjoy!

Fast Food Tie-In From The 25th Century

Back in January I had a series of posts featuring the trading card and sticker set of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. When I was working on those posts, or any time I think about that great series, I always think of the poster that adorned my wall back when the series first debuted. It was given out at Burger King restaurants. I think it was free with a Coke or something like that. Anyway, I was on-line the other day and found the poster I loved so long ago. Here it is:

Interesting enough, the same artwork would reappear with a little bit more added to it in a TV Guide ad for the second episode of the series. Take a look:

I wish I still had that poster. I recently saw it on E-bay for $9.99. As cool as it was, I'm not willing to part with $10.00 for it. However, if anyone is interested in getting me a present . . .

Foiled By Buck Rogers!

Here are the final three packs of the Buck Rogers cards. In my infinite wisdom, I (as usual) miscalculated cards per pack in accordance to cards per set. The set consists of 88 cards and 22 stickers (not 33 stickers as I had originally thought). I wanted to kind of keep it as if you were getting the original packs so I put 10 cards in every pack. You can do the math and see that I would be short somewhere. As a result, these last three packs contain the usual 10 cards but two stickers in each pack with the exception of the last pack. This contains no stickers, 8 cards and a super special bonus only available here: 2 bonus foil cards created exclusively for this set of cards! Not a bad boobie prize! Enjoy and keep on the lookout for more card sets!

"Step On It, Buck"

OK, I figured you could use a boost in your collecting of Buck Rogers cards so here are the next three packs! That's right. The boring one pack every other day or so has been replaced with a mighty three pack in one day post! After these packs, there are only twenty eight cards left to collect which means only three more packs. They'll be up sometime within the next week. Keep a lookout for those and for future trading cards! In the meantime, here are the next three packs of Buck Rogers Trading Card. Enjoy!

More "Bidi-Bidi-Bidi" Cards

Here's the next pack of Buck Rogers trading cards. As with the last pack, 10 cards (the next ten in order) plus three stickers make up the set! One little note: in pack one, the stickers were mis-labeled. Instead of stickers 1, 2 & 3, the actual stickers included in the pack were 1, 4 & 8. The reason for packing the stickers out of order is the order of the puzzle pieces on the back. Enjoy!

Here is a pack of 10 cards from the Buck Rogers set from the popular television show! In accordance with the original packaging I am including 10 cards from the series of 88. To help you keep them tidy, I am including them in order. As an added bonus, instead of the usual 1 sticker per pack, I am including 3 stickers!!!! All cards and stickers have fronts and backs! Stay tuned for the rest of the set as well as more spiffy trading cards from the golden age of card collecting! Enjoy!

September of Soundtracks: Adventures in The 25th Century

A few weeks ago, when I was in Canada with Avenue Q, they had their version of Comicon called "FanExpo". It was pretty run of the mill and nowhere near what Comicon is. But it did have some cool celebrities there. In addition to meeting super hot Shawnee Smyth, my friend, Maggie getting felt up by Henry Winkler and conversing about theater with Brent Spiner, we also got to meet Edward James Olmos. We started to talk to Edward about Battlestar but he was more interested to talk about the various theaters we had been in and the woman at his side was very ecstatic to meet people from Avenue Q! As we talked to her her, I thought to myself, "She looks just like Wilma Deering, aka, Erin Gray". So I said to her, "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Erin Gray?". She responded very quickly with "I am Erin Gray and I've been waiting all day for someone to say that!" Naturally I took a picture with her and as far as I was concerned, my day was made! You're probably thinking, "That's all well and good Dartman, but how does that affect the September of Soundtracks?" That one's really a no brainer! Today's soundtrack sharity is none other than the soundtrack to "Buck Rogers"! When this was released, it was hot on the heels of Battlestar Galactica and as they had done with the original two-hour pilot for Battlestar, the feature-length pilot episode for the series was released theatrically several months before the series aired. I remember there was a huge tie-in with one of the fast food places (McDonald's or Burger King - can't remember which) because they were giving out posters from the film. This soundtrack is taken from that feature-length pilot. Here it is for you, all the way from 1979! Enjoy!
