Random Coloring Page of the Week

Here's this week's random coloring page. This time around it's from The Six Million Dollar Man coloring book. It's a great picture of the one and only, Oscar Goldman. What kid didn't want to color him?!

Bionic Filmstrips

I'm just finishing up season one of The Bionic Woman and I have to say that I'm pretty surprised at how little the whole Bionics thing is used. Towards the end of the season, it gets a little bit better but for most of season one, Jaimie Summers uses her bionics for doing housework most of the time. Lindsay Wagner had made a conscious effort to make sure that the show never had someone getting hurt unless it was in self defense. It really shows up when she uses her bionics to pull a rug out from under someone holding her at gunpoint rather than throwing him across the room with her bionic arm. However, in the war against messy apartments, all bets are off as Jamie uses her bionics to the extreme by washing dishes, waxing floors and cleaning grime from the windows. Anyway, it made me start searching for Bionic Woman related items and I happened to come across this super cool set of "Give A Show" slides that someone posted on youtube. Upon further research, I found there is also a "Give-A-Show Blog" that features tons of these items. The blog is kept up as much as the youtube page so if you are really into tracking these down, I suggest you start there. For now, here's "The Bionic Woman Give-A-Show" slide sets! Enjoy!

A Six Million Dollar Comic

I still haven't purchased the complete Six Million Dollar Man box set yet. I know sooner or later they'll eventually sell the seasons individually for a much cheaper price at Target and I'll start getting them then. They did the same thing with Get Smart. When they first released it, you could only get the complete series and the price was astronomical. Now you can get two season packs at Target for $20.00. However, if anyone is feeling very generous and would like to buy me the box set of The Six Million Dollar Man, feel free. I won't turn it away. Anyway, one of my favorite memories as a child was the day my mom took me to the local drug store in downtown Clinton, CT. It was an awesome, old fashioned drug store complete with a counter where you could sit and have a cup of coffee or enjoy a fountain drink. They had the coolest magazine and comic book rack. My mom bought me an issue of The Six Million Dollar Man comic book that became my favorite comic book of all time. While that issue was lost some time ago, I share with you, today, the first issue of that great comic series. Here is issue 1 of The Six Million Dollar Man. Enjoy!

The Costumed Youth of The Dartman Part 2

As we continue on with the countdown ( I suddenly had a flashback of Casey Kasem) I give you another great store bought Halloween costume that once adorned my little boyish body back in the day. This time around it's Steve Austin, aka The Six Million Dollar Man! I was a huge fan of TSMDM and still am to this day! (waiting patiently for the DVDS to be released someday!). This was a cool costume because on the mask, it was very obvious to tell which eye was bionic and you kind of felt like you had a bionic eye because you were looking through an eye-hole cut out of a plastic mask! My mother still has a picture of me in this outfit with my sister in her outfit from when we marched in the town's Halloween Parade. I don't know if there were any other towns that did this, but in sunny Clinton, CT, they would have a Halloween Parade on a Saturday morning and all of the kids would march in costume where they were looked upon by the town. At the end you got a goodie bag of candy and treats like wax teeth and a statue of Dracula that had liquid in it. My father told me that the liquid was gross so I chose to leave the wax statue on my bourough until one day, in a fit of anger, I ripped the head off and then cried that I had ruined it. Good times! Speaking of the Six Million Dollar Man, in case you missed it, I posted the Power Records version of the series a while back. You can catch it here!

Steve Austin Gets Active!

I'm in LA right now and everywhere I look I see an advertisement for the new Bionic Woman. I've already seen the first episode and I really didn't think it was that great. But that's just my opinion. I'm hoping that with all of the hype for the new series that the official US DVD release of the original Six Million Dollar Man finally sees the light of day. In the meantime, you can listen to the first Power Records version of the show here! That's what I am offering you today. This album has been in my collection since I got it as a kid when it was first released back in the 70s! I can quote almost every line from the album and the cover alone is worth its weight in gold! Here it is for you now! Enjoy!
