Space: The Final Trek Cards

So back in January I posted what I thought was the complete set of Topps Star Trek cards from 1976. Until I received a comment from a follower of the blog stating that there were cards missing. Upon further inspection I realized that there was an entire file of cards that I had not posted. My bad. Anyway, here, at last, are the remaining cards. Rather than put them in separate packs I put them all in one giant file. Enjoy!

Trading Cards . . . The Final Frontier

Just went through a recent Star Trek kick. Read William Shatner's "Star Trek Memories" and watched Season 1. Brought me back as I haven't actually watched an episode of the series in years. I used to love watching it every Sunday night with my dad when I was a youngster in the 70s. I have a lot of Star Trek items to share with you but I thought I would start off with a bit of Trading Card collecting. This time around its the Topps set from 1976. Here are the next two packs of Hulk trading cards. I hope you are enjoying the way I have it set up so that if feels like you are actually getting the old packs and finding the cards that you need to complete the set. Of course, it would be much easier for me to post the whole set as one big download but where's the fun in that?! The other upside is that you don't have to worry about getting any doubles. And if you want to trade with someone, you can just copy the file and send it rather than give away your prized possession. Here are packs 7 & 8.

Within Each of Us, Ofttimes, There Dwells a Mighty and Raging Trading Card.

Here are two more packs of the trading cards from the classic television show, "The Incredible Hulk". As you open them up and collect them, you might notice that most of the cards come from the first season of the show. There are a few from the second season but most of them are from the first season. Not only that, but they come mostly from certain episodes. There are scenes from the pilot, the 747 episodes and the Times Square episode. Plus there are the ones from where David Banner goes through hypno therapy and confronts the Hulk in his hypnosis. ANGER! DANGER! TRADING CARDS!

Here are the next two packs of cards from "The Incredible Hulk" set. These cards were originally released in 1979. They are still a much sought after set to this day. A collectible shop in a mall not too far from where I live sells the original wax packs. While most cards from that era are selling for a dollar or two a pack, these sell for $5 a pack. If I needed them, I probably would spend that much. Here are packs 3 and 4 and remember to keep a look out for those bonus cards and stickers!

Don't Make Me A Trading Card . . . You Wouldn't Like Me As A Trading Card

Since I received that great e-mail from Kenneth Johnson a few posts back, I thought it fitting to serve up the next set of trading cards to you. This time, as you may have already guessed, it's The Incredible Hulk set from 1979. The set features 88 cards and 22 stickers. In keeping with the original packs, I have included 7 cards in each pack but instead of just one sticker I am giving you two! Woo hoo! And to keep the math straight and not have any doubles, I've included bonus cards from other trading card series featuring the Hulk throughout the set. Keep an eye out for them! Sorry about missing yesterday. The family is just getting over the dreaded stomach bug that has been going around and I just did not have the time to devote to a post. Shuffle the Curlys

One of the reasons that the 1959 Three Stooges cards from Fleer are so rare and so valuable is the fact that most of the cards that were produced were off center. Since it was 1959 and these were not thought of as worth anything more than the five cents they charged for the cards, Fleer paid no mind to this flaw. As a result, finding a pristine set with all of the cards center is worth more to collectors than any other non-sports cards in the world. That being said, here is the next "double pack" of 12 cards. No Curly Edges on These Cards!

Another double pack of Stooges cards and some more info on them as well. According to most collectors, the hardest card to find in flawless form is the Curly single (#1). This card makes no reference to the fact that Curly died in 1952 and had been replaced prior to his death by Shemp Howard. The card has been referred to as "the Holy Grail" of the set. This card is also often found off-center. Of the 166 Curlys graded, there has yet to be a PSA GEM MT 10 example and there is just one PSA 9. A PSA NM-MT+ 8.5 sold for $9,334.20 in a Memory Lane auction in May 2008. That's a lot of money for one card! That's a lot of money for one anything! More Cards to "Spread Out"

Here's the next "double pack" of Stooges cards as put out by Fleer in 1959. Here's some more interesting facts about these cards. There are a number of color variations on them. In some instances, the objects in the pictures change color from card to card. A lot of this has to do with the backs of the cards. They were produced with three different colored backs: white, cream and gray. White is the most sought-after due to the front of the cards being crisp and sharp in color. The gray backs are just the opposite. The quality of the paper they were printed on is poor thus giving the colors a much different look. Here are another 12 cards in random order to add to your collection of Three Stooges cards so far. I actually was able to find out a bit more about this set of cards last night. They were originally released in conjunction with the Stooges' shorts premiering on TV. They originally cost five cents a pack and in the original run, each pack contained six cards and a piece of gum. Since my packs contain 12 cards, you can view them as double packs. Here's the next pack of 12 cards in the 1959 Fleer Three Stooges trading card set. Keep on the lookout for those highly sought after portrait cards. Obviously the "virtual" versions have no value at all but you can always say you have them to get points with all of the cool kids! Enjoy!

They Stooge To Chew Bubblegum

Since the Buck Rogers cards were such a hit a little while ago, I thought I would keep the trend going. This time I offer you the rare and much sought after 1959 Fleer Cards collection of The 3 Stooges! These cards are always up on e-bay but are never complete. The most valuable cards in the set are the first three which are individual portraits of the boys. Of course, here at the World of Wonder, if you play your cards right (get it?!?!?!) you'll be able to collect all three of those as well as the rest of the 94 cards in the set. I'm not sure exactly how many cards were in each individual pack as I wasn't even thought of in 1959 and I can't seem to find any info on it here on the old world wide web. As a result, I decided to put the cards into packs of 12 and spread them out over the next 8 posts, concluding with the final post exactly one week from today on (what else?!) April Fools Day! The big difference between these and the way I posted the Buck Rogers cards is that these will not be posted in order. Just like buying the cards at the local five and dime (if you remember what those were), you will get 12 random cards that are not in order. Unlike that time honored tradition, you will only get each card once and won't have endless amounts of doubles. Anyway, here is the first pack and keep checking back for the rest! Enjoy!

Foiled By Buck Rogers!

Here are the final three packs of the Buck Rogers cards. In my infinite wisdom, I (as usual) miscalculated cards per pack in accordance to cards per set. The set consists of 88 cards and 22 stickers (not 33 stickers as I had originally thought). I wanted to kind of keep it as if you were getting the original packs so I put 10 cards in every pack. You can do the math and see that I would be short somewhere. As a result, these last three packs contain the usual 10 cards but two stickers in each pack with the exception of the last pack. This contains no stickers, 8 cards and a super special bonus only available here: 2 bonus foil cards created exclusively for this set of cards! Not a bad boobie prize! Enjoy and keep on the lookout for more card sets!
