Here In The West We're Singin' The Best

When my wife and I put up our Christmas tree, it has become a tradition to listen to "Christmas On The Ponderosa". It's a classic album that features the cast of Bonanza celebrating Christmas in a mix of spoken word and song. It's entertaining as can be and provides many laughs that we look forward to all year. The holiday record is great but it is the second album of its kind from that great western series. The first one came out a year earlier and was the same concept without the holiday theme. It was titled "Bonanza: Ponderosa Party Time". As with the Christmas album, it features a mix of songs, stories and spoken word moments that make you feel like you are at a party on the Ponderosa! Here it is for you now. Enjoy!

Classic Television Episode of the Month: Galactica 1980

Galactica 1980 is considered to be the bastard son of the classic Battlestar Galactica. In some weird way I kind of like it. I know it sucks but I still have a certain fondness for it. Kind of like the three Star Wars pre-quels. Anyway, there is no denying that the best episode of the one season series was the final episode which featured the greatest character on the show, Lt. Starbuck. Here is "The Return of Starbuck". Enjoy!

The 25 Posts of Christmas: Christmas With Lorne Greene

Back in the early 80s, there was a syndicated radio series entitled, The Spirit of Christmas. It was a bunch of short stories narrated by the late, great, Lorne Greene. It only aired once and was then shelved. The master tapes are long presumed lost but a copy of them was ressurected by a radio jock named Scott Snailham. Thanks to him, we can all share the in the glory of these 30 short episodes. Since he was so kind as to share these items with me, I am paying it forward and sharing them with you. These are truly great. Here is "The Spirit of Christmas with Lorne Greene". Enjoy!

Classic TV Episode of The Month: Battlestar Galactica

We interrupt The March of Madness to bring you this month's Cassic TV Episode from the original "Battlestar Galactica". We are featuring Battlestar to help celebrate the end of the "re-imagined" series. The series finale is this coming Friday. I hate to say it but, what started out as something great has turned into something that wastes my time. I have been following it since the inception and I have to say that it has turned out to be rather dissapointing towards the end. I'm still going to watch the finale. Hopefully they'll send it off on a good note! Anyway, enough of my tirade. Here's an episode from the original (and still better) series! Enjoy!
